At RMT, our mission is simple: to maximize road budgets. We know that with the current methods of roadway management, it feels like the money never stretches far enough to put a dent in the infrastructure crisis. That’s why RMT provides government agencies and engineering firms with a unique method of managing roadways and infrastructure. We are devoted to making the transition to a preservation-based maintenance program easy and affordable by providing the first and only real-time solution for passive daily road quality surveys; one that is simple, affordable, and automated.
How do we do that?
We equip each vehicle in an agency’s fleet with one of our proprietary RoadRunner systems, turning agency vehicles into an entire fleet that can passively survey road conditions while driving their normal routes. It’s essentially like crowdsourcing within an agency, and it is exponentially more efficient than traditional methods, like ARAN/LIDAR surveys. This is because it can be done more extensively and more frequently than traditional surveying methods. Think about it: agencies would have multiple vehicles passively monitoring road conditions while they travel their regular routes as opposed to one vehicle having to collect all that data itself, giving agencies access to more recent, more accurate data. With this method, road quality data can be collected daily as employees go about their normal business. This means an agency can monitor road degradation over time in a cost-effective way!
However, we don’t just provide a way to automate road surveys; we have also developed a system that makes it easy to access and manage the data collected. We included integrated task and project tracking, dispatch management, expense tracking, inventory tracking, and other features in an online platform to increase efficiency and eliminate paperwork. We made sure the platform was easy-to-use, and it can be accessed from any computer, smartphone, or tablet connected to the internet! This integration of our survey platform with our technology-based services allows us to increase efficiency and simplify the lives of the people who work to keep our infrastructure whole.
In addition, we developed our system with fleet management in mind. Our system allows agencies to monitor things such as vehicle, asset, and equipment tracking, fuel monitoring, and unsafe driving alerts. If a fleet vehicle is speeding or idling, users receive a notification. Users can also receive notifications if a vehicle needs maintenance such as an oil change or a tire rotation. Notifications like these allow agencies to stay on top of potential maintenance issues so their fleets can perform their best.
With the help of our proprietary hardware and digital software systems, budgets stretch further and problems are prevented, not just dealt with on a worst-first basis. By equipping our clients with the tools they need to efficiently monitor their roadways in real time, we are able to help achieve a better future for America’s infrastructure.
