Roadway Management Technologies - Mississippi to Spend $85M on Road Network Projects

MDOT announces ~$85M in road network projects across Mississippi

On Friday, December 16, 2022, the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced a major investment of $85 million in the state’s road network. This investment is aimed at improving the safety and efficiency of the state’s transportation system and will be used to fund a variety of projects, including the construction of new roads, the repair and maintenance of existing roads, and the installation of new traffic control systems.

One of the key projects that will be funded through this investment is the construction of a new four-lane highway between Hattiesburg and Prentiss. This project is expected to improve travel times and reduce congestion on this heavily-trafficked corridor. In addition, MDOT will also be investing in the repair and maintenance of existing roads throughout the state, including repaving and resurfacing work, as well as the installation of new guardrails and other safety features.
